Opera Releases New Webkit Based Mobile Browser for Android

opera-for-androidLast month Opera had 300 million monthly users on different gadgets. To maintain this popularity popular browser maker opera has recently introduced a new browser for Android OS. This new opera browser is based on Webkit. Last month opera announced to use webkit engine. Webkit engine is used in prominent browsers like Safari and Chrome.

This new browser by opera is more efficient that its predecessor. Opera new browser is available from 5, March 5, 2013 on Google Play Store and opera website. Opera’s beta version of mobile browser will be supported by Android 2.3 and above versions of Android. Till now Opera for Android does not support Android based tablets.

New browser by opera features Speed dialing, new user interface. Webkit based browser by opera lets the users to access history and read stored web pages even in offline mode. Speed dialing will include direct links to Speed Dial links for YouTube, Google+, Gmail, Amazon, Wikipedia, news sites, and the Opera Mobile Store for downloading apps. There is a Discover page on the browser as well. The Discover page features categories like Top Stories, Arts, Business, Entertainment, Food, Health, Lifestyle, Living, Motoring, News, Science, Sports, Technology, and Travel.
